Northumberland County Career and Technology Center is a small, rural, public, vocational school located in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Enrollment was just 166 pupils grades 10-12th in 2015, with 37% of pupils eligible for a free lunch due to family poverty. Transportation to the school is the responsibility of each member school district. The school was founded by three Northumberland County public schools in 1967. The member school districts are: Line Mountain School District, Mount Carmel Area School District and Shamokin Area School District. Each school board sends an elected representative to serve on the Northumberland County Career Technology Center school board which is called a Joint Operating Committee. The school cannot levy taxes to fund its programs. Funding for the school is in the form of per pupil tuition paid by the sending district. Additionally, the school can apply for funding from the state, federal government and for grants.
